Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with a complex genetic basis. SLE is an inflammatory , and often febrile multisystemic disorder of connective tissue characterized principally by involvement of the skin , joints , kidneys , and serosal membranes.
